The following table outlines any regional difficulties with utilities services. Obtaining cable or satellite television is not a problem in the Central Valley. Power outages are not as frequent as in some parts of the country, but they do happen, even on perfectly sunny days. In 2007, the low water level in Lake Arenal disrupted the country’s hydro-electric power generation and caused nation-wide blackouts, but that’s an unusual event.
