Chapter 7 - Buying a Home or Property
Buying property in Costa Rica is a complicated process, and this book will get into many of the details in separate chapters. This chapter is just going to describe the basics, assuming you’ve found a property (Chapter 6) and valued it. The first step is to examine the various stakeholders in the buying process. Next the chapter will describe the negotiating process and different options as far as escrow, deposits and holding fees. Finally the chapter will walk you through the closing and look at what you need to do to register your new property in the National Registry.
